Sam Nasr
General Manager, CEO

Sam has been a Club Manager in the Omaha area since 1988. Sam attended the University Of Nebraska at Omaha where he focused on researching the art of total quality management. This research created a passion to go above and beyond in all areas related to management and service. Sam has a strong desire to "Wow" all of our members and their guests and does so with the greatest of ease. A true family man, Sam realizes the value of balancing hard work with enjoying life to the fullest. Sam always goes out of his way to ensure that our members achieve this balance as well!

Matt Haynes
Business Manager

Matt started as a banquet server in 2001 and he fell in love with the Club’s outstanding team and friendly membership.  His current role as business manager is to maximize organizational efficiencies and align the various departments to one goal: Member Satisfaction!    Born and raised in Omaha, Matt graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UNO, where he was also a two-year captain of the Maverick Baseball Team.  He is always available to make sure the Club exceeds your expectations.

Finance
Barb Whitelock
Controller

Barb Whitelock joined us in February 2008 as our new controller.  Barb came to us after almost 22 years at the accounting firm of Frankel Zacharia LLC.  She worked directly with clients in preparing financial statements, payroll and taxes, and reconciliations.  She also assisted clients with QuickBooks, PeachTree, Timberline and many other softwares.
 
Originally from Michigan, Barb spent 6 years in Tulsa, OK before coming to Omaha with her family.  She has three children and one grandchild.

Golf Staff

Greg Neujahr
PGA Director of Golf

Greg Neujahr has been a Golf Professional in the Omaha area since 1989 and a PGA member since 1992. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Greg is a past winner of the Junior Golf Leader Award in the Nebraska Section PGA, has served as chairman on numerous committees and is currently the Vice President of the Nebraska Section of the PGA. Greg started his first year at The Club in 2002 and has loved getting to know the membership and creating a fun and hospitable environment. Providing excellent service is the number one goal for Greg and his staff of 4 PGA professionals. They look forward to providing first class service to all of our members and their guests!


 

Doug Thies
PGA Head Golf Professional

A native to northwest Iowa, Doug came to Champions Run from Phoenix, Arizona where he learned many aspects of the golf industry through working at private, resort and municipal courses.  He received his PGA Membership in 2008.  Doug strives to serve the membership by providing excellent customer service, tournament operations, Junior Links program, proper teaching techniques and equipment knowledge.  He enjoys playing golf with the membership, snow skiing, auctioneering and spending time with his wife Melanie and son Aiden. 

 


Dawn Neujahr
PGA Golf Professional, Merchandiser

Dawn Neujahr joined Champions Run in 2002 as Merchandiser for The Club. She brought with her 12 years of merchandising experience from other private clubs in the Omaha area. We have enjoyed experiencing first hand her fabulous displays and outstanding merchandise selections in the Golf Shop. In addition to her service and merchandising skills, Dawn is also a member of the PGA of America and has been recognized as Nebraska Section, PGA Private Merchandiser of the Year for 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In addition to merchandising, Dawn enjoys being involved with our Ladies Leagues, Junior Golf and instruction.


Nathan Kalin
PGA Golf Professional

Nathan joined us in 2004 from the University of Nebraska where he has a degree in Professional Golf Management and received his PGA Membership in 2008.  He brings a passion for the game of golf and is dedicated to providing first class service to members and their guests. Nathan is the current Membership Chairman for the Nebraska PGA Section and was awarded the Nebraska PGA Assistant of the Year for 2009! He is also instrumental in our Ladies Leagues, Junior Links golf program and assisting with merchandising.

 

Jeff Latka
Golf Course Superintendant

Jeff Latka joined the Champions Run team in 1996. Previously, he helped to build and grow-in Pacific Springs and Shadow Ridge golf courses here in Omaha. A University of Nebraska graduate, he specializes in agricultural sciences emphasizing horticulure and turfgrass management.

Paul Militzer
Executive Chef

Paul joined the Champions team in 1999.  Paul’s kitchen reflects his culinary knowledge and his aim to please attitude. Paul’s goal from the “back of the house” is to ensure that every member is delighted with their dining experience.

Dorothy Thompson
Pastry Chef

Champions Run was very excited to welcome  Dorothy Thompson, in the fall of 2006!  Dorothy has been a professional pastry chef since 1984 and worked in various restaurants in Las Angeles and Denver before moving to Omaha in 1995.  Before coming to Champions, she was the pastry chef at Bebos restaurant while also running a business of her own doing wedding cakes and other desserts from home.  Next time you are in for lunch or dinner, check out our new desserts and give them a try.  Dorothy does everything from cupcakes, to wedding cakes, specialty cakes, and everything in between.  Add a personal touch to your next special occasion with a cake by Dorothy.  Want to see for yourself, check out the photo albums in the front lobby showcasing her latest creations.  To place an order or to get more information, please call Dorothy at the Club or visit her website at  www.omahapastry.com.

Beth Barrineau
Director of Food & Beverage
Wedding Coordinator

Beth Barrineau is the Director of Food & Beverage for Champions Run. Beth has utilized her various roles within the club to obtain a wealth of knowledge in many different areas. A favorite of the members, Beth has enjoyed a vast expanse of responsibilities at Champions in all areas regarding service. She attended the University Of Nebraska at Omaha where she minored in Spanish and received her Bachelor's degree in Marketing.  Her role at the club is to ensure that every member and guest has an unforgettable experience when visiting the club.

Jennifer Bruck
Director of Member Relations and Events

Jennifer began her career with Champions in 1999 and continues to assist members with their membership and event.  Her love for customer service and Champions Run, coupled with her warm personality make her a natural in her role. In this position, Jennifer has had the opportunity to provide great service from the moment our members have joined through planning their most productive of meetings and their grandest of galas. Jennifer can assist you with all aspects of membersip at Champions as well as your banquet event needs. Contact Jennifer to inquire about membership or events.

 

Justin Cox
Clubhouse Manager

Justin Cox has been a great asset to the club in past years in other areas, which allows him valuable experience within a club atmosphere. Justin joined us from the University of Northern Iowa where he focused his studies on Health Promotion. Justin recognizes the importance of ensuring quality and impeccable service in the Men’s locker room, Men’s Card Room and shoe care areas as well as the food and beverage areas. 

Pool/Tennis

Kathy Hawkins
Tennis Professional

Kathy Hawkins has been Director of Tennis & Head Tennis Professional at Champions Run since 1997.  Kathy is a USPTA Level I certified tennis professional; in 2005, she was selected as the USPTA Nebraska Tennis Professional of the Year.  From 1981 to 1986, she coached the University of Nebraska women’s tennis team.  In her own college days at UNL, she was a Big 8 doubles champion.  Kathy is also the MRT certified owner and manager of Centre Court, Inc., and coordinates and teaches tennis programs at Miracle Hill.  Her enthusiasm for tennis has proved contagious – the junior tennis program at Champions Run is one of the largest in the state!  Don’t hesitate to contact Kathy with questions about Champions Run tennis.


 

Jay Thiltgen
Pool Operator

Jay Thiltgen is the club's pool and aquatics manager and has been with the club since 2001.  Jay attended college at the University of South Dakota and graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Art in 1999.  He completed a Masters in Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2006.  During the pool's off season, Jay teaches art and graphic design at Omaha Burke, where he is also the Girl's Head Swim coach.
