Sam Nasr
General Manager, CEO

Sam has been a Club Manager in the Omaha area since 1988. Sam attended the University Of Nebraska at Omaha where he focused on researching the art of total quality management. This research created a passion to go above and beyond in all areas related to management and service. Sam has a strong desire to "Wow" all of our members and their guests and does so with the greatest of ease. A true family man, Sam realizes the value of balancing hard work with enjoying life to the fullest. Sam always goes out of his way to ensure that our members achieve this balance as well!

Finance
Barb Whitelock
Controller

Barb Whitelock joined us in February 2008 as our new controller.  Barb came to us after almost 22 years at the accounting firm of Frankel Zacharia LLC.  She worked directly with clients in preparing financial statements, payroll and taxes, and reconciliations.  She also assisted clients with QuickBooks, PeachTree, Timberline and many other softwares.  Originally from Michigan, Barb spent 6 years in Tulsa, OK before coming to Omaha with her family.  She has three children and one grandchild.

Golf Staff

Greg Neujahr
PGA Director of Golf

Greg Neujahr has been a Golf Professional in the Omaha area since 1989 and a PGA member since 1992. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Greg is a past winner of the Junior Golf Leader Award in the Nebraska Section PGA, has served as chairman on numerous committees and is currently the Vice President of the Nebraska Section of the PGA. Greg started his first year at The Club in 2002 and has loved getting to know the membership and creating a fun and hospitable environment. Providing excellent service is the number one goal for Greg and his staff of 4 PGA professionals. They look forward to providing first class service to all of our members and their guests!

Dawn Neujahr
PGA Golf Professional, Merchandiser

Dawn Neujahr joined Champions Run in 2002 as Merchandiser for The Club. She brought with her 12 years of merchandising experience from other private clubs in the Omaha area. We have enjoyed experiencing first hand her fabulous displays and outstanding merchandise selections in the Golf Shop. In addition to her service and merchandising skills, Dawn is also a member of the PGA of America and has been recognized as Nebraska Section, PGA Private Merchandiser of the Year for 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In addition to merchandising, Dawn enjoys being involved with our Ladies Leagues, Junior Golf and instruction.

Nathan Kalin
PGA Head Golf Professional

Nathan joined us in 2004 from the University of Nebraska where he has a degree in Professional Golf Management and received his PGA Membership in 2008.  He brings a passion for the game of golf and is dedicated to providing first class service to members and their guests. Nathan is the current Membership Chairman for the Nebraska PGA Section and was awarded the Nebraska PGA Assistant of the Year for 2009 and Horton Smith for Education Award in 2010! He is also instrumental in our Ladies Leagues, Junior Links golf program and assisting with merchandising.

Dennis Sigafoose
Assistant Golf Professional

Dennis got his start in the golf business in 1999 in Iowa City, IA. After a few years of college he moved to Phoenix Arizona and attended the Golf Academy of America where he received his associate degree in golf complex operations. While living in Phoenix, Dennis had to opportunity to work at two Golf Digest Top 100 private courses and also taught golf for John Jacobs Golf Schools. He spent his last two years in Phoenix as Head Golf Professional at Painted Mountain Golf Resort before deciding to move back to the Omaha area to be closer to family. Dennis was recently married in March 2011 to his beautiful wife Kate. Dennis is very proud to be a member of the Champions Run staff and takes great pride in taking care of the needs of our members.

Jeff Latka
Golf Course Superintendant

Jeff Latka joined the Champions Run team in 1996. Previously, he helped to build and grow-in Pacific Springs and Shadow Ridge golf courses here in Omaha. A University of Nebraska graduate, he specializes in agricultural sciences emphasizing horticulure and turfgrass management.  Jeff takes great pride in keeping our course in top knotch condition.  He is always open to questions and comments.

Paul Militzer
Executive Chef

Paul joined the Champions team in 1999.  Paul’s kitchen reflects his culinary knowledge and his aim to please attitude. Paul’s goal from the back of the house is to ensure that every member is delighted with their dining experience. 

Barry Harker
Sous Chef

Barry brings a variety of talents to the kitchen at Champions Run.  He began here in early 2007 and is a familiar face to many of our members.  He enjoys special requests and being in the dining room talking to members.  Barry studied at Metropolitan Community College and received his associate's degree in culinary arts in 2003.  After school he worked for Embassy Suites as the lead line cook where he gained valuable experience and expanded his knowledge of banquets and dining services.

Beth Barrineau
Director of Food & Beverage
Wedding Coordinator

Beth Barrineau started at Champions Run in 1999 in the food and beveage department.  She is currently the Director of Food & Beverage and Wedding Coordinator. Beth has utilized her various roles within the club to obtain a wealth of knowledge in many different areas. A favorite of the members, Beth has enjoyed a vast expanse of responsibilities at Champions in all areas regarding service. She attended the University Of Nebraska at Omaha where she minored in Spanish and received her Bachelor's degree in Marketing.  Beth works very hard to ensure that every member and guest has an unforgettable experience when visiting the Club.

Jennifer Bruck
Director of Membership and Events

Jennifer began her career with Champions in 1999 and continues to assist members with their membership and events.  Her love for customer service and Champions Run, coupled with her warm personality make her a natural in her role. In this position, Jennifer has had the opportunity to provide great service from the moment our members have joined through planning their most productive of meetings and their most special occasions. Jennifer can assist you with all aspects of membersip at Champions as well as your banquet event needs. Contact Jennifer to inquire about membership or events.

 

Justin Cox
Clubhouse Manager

Justin Cox has been with Champions Run since 2001.  During his time here, he has held several positions in many areas of the Club.  Justin began working in the fitness center and pool area in the summer of 2002 and was quickly promoted to men's locker room manger the following year.  Justin's current role as Clubhouse manager is fitting for the guy who has done it all.  He is very involved with the membership and special events such as Bugeaters and Hilltoppers.  Justin joined us from the University of Northern Iowa where he focused his studies on Health Promotion. Justin recognizes the importance of ensuring quality and service in all areas of the club. 

Joe Koll
Banquet Manager

Joe Koll became a member of the Champions Run Team in the of summer of 2009 as assistant manager in the pool snack bar. Since then he has enjoyed learning about the many roles in the food and beverage department.  Joe was recently promoted to Banquet Manager in 2010. In his position Joe has acquired the skills necessary to run a variety of banquet events here at Champions Run. Outside of banquets, Joe can be found managing Sunday Brunch where he is always open to comments or suggestions from our members.  Joe graduated from Creighton Prep in 2003 and extensively studied theatre at The University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is grateful for his position and exited to continue to grow and learn at Champions Run.
Chris Thompsen
Banquet Manager

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to our management team.  He started here in 2001 and has worked in many different areas at the Club including men's card room, valet, and finally landing in banquets and events.  Chris is great with staff, members and guests alike always aiming to please and eager to accomodate.  His easy going nature makes him a natural for his position.  Chris was promoted to supervisor  in 2009 and then to banquet manger in 2010.  He continues to work closely with the staff and other managers to make all our events successful. 
Mike Anusevich
Club Maintenance

Mike was born and raised in Omaha.  As a young man, Mike served 3 years in the US Army and served in Germany in the 509th air borne and the 101st air borne in Vietnam. Mike is a mechanic and construction worker by trade and enjoys working with his hands to repair or build. He loves the satisfaction and the challenge he encounters with these trades.  Mike started at Champions Run in 2002 and keeps busy with various projects around the club.  He is a true "fix it" type of guy.  In his free time, Mike enjoys vacationing and playing golf.

Kathy Hawkins
Tennis Professional

Kathy Hawkins has been Director of Tennis & Head Tennis Professional at Champions Run since 1997.  Kathy is a USPTA Level I certified tennis professional; in 2005, she was selected as the USPTA Nebraska Tennis Professional of the Year.  From 1981 to 1986, she coached the University of Nebraska women’s tennis team.  In her own college days at UNL, she was a Big 8 doubles champion.  Kathy is also the MRT certified owner and manager of Centre Court, Inc., and coordinates and teaches tennis programs at Miracle Hill.  Her enthusiasm for tennis has proved contagious – the junior tennis program at Champions Run is one of the largest in the state!  Don’t hesitate to contact Kathy with questions about Champions Run tennis.


 

Jessica Hessel
Pool Operator

Jessica comes to Champions Run from Arkadelphia, AR where she is in graduate school.  She attend Henderson State University majoring in sports administration and also coached the men’s and women’s swim teams.  Prior to accepting the coaching job and being admitted into graduate school, Jessica worked as the aquatics director at the Jewish Community Center of Omaha in 2008.  During her time at the Jewish Community Center she also coached at Millard Aquatic Club from 2006 to 2010 and was the assistant varsity coach at Millard South from 2008-2010.  From 2004-2008, Jessica swam for the University of Nebraska Omaha.  Throughout her 4 years of swimming at UNO, she became an NCC Conference record holder, 4 time school record holder, 11 time honorable mention All-American, 10 time All-American and a DII national champion.  Jessica is excited to start off a great summer here at Champions!
